План курса:

Module 1. Concise Introduction to AD DS Technologies in Windows Server and Windows

  • This module introduces all of the new AD DS technologies in Windows Server and Windows at a summary level.

Module 2. Introduction to Domain Controller Deployment in Windows Server

  • This module explains the new Windows Server Active Directory Domain Services domain controller promotion feature at an introductory level. In Windows Server, AD DS replaces the Dcpromo tool with Server Manager and Windows PowerShell-based.
  • Lab 2: Introduction to Domain Controller Deployment in Windows Server
    • During this lab, you will deploy AD DS forests using Server Manager and Windows PowerShell.

Module 3. Advanced Directory Services Deployment and Administration in Windows Server

  • This module explains the new Windows Server Active Directory Domain Services domain controller promotion at an advanced level. In Windows Server, AD DS replaces the Dcpromo tool with a Server Manager and Windows PowerShell-based deployment system.
  • This module also describes the new Active Directory Administrative Center management features like the graphical AD Recycle Bin, graphical Fine-Grained Password Policies, and the PowerShell History Viewer. The new Server Manager tool is described along with its new monitoring and administrative capabilities, as well as the updated RID Master. Finally, this module explores troubleshooting these new features in depth.
  • Lab 3: Advanced Directory Services Deployment and Administration in Windows Server
    • During this lab, you will upgrade an existing down-level AD DS forest to Windows Server. You will also add additional writable and read-only replica domain controllers as well as another domain in the forest. You will decommission the existing down-level domain controller as well as demote a Windows Server domain controller. You will remotely administer and manage the new environment using Server Manager, Windows PowerShell, and the Active Directory Administrative Center from a Windows 8 client. You will troubleshoot AD DS using the built-in instrumentation.

Module 4. Virtualized Domain Controller in Windows Server

  • This module explains the new Windows Server Active Directory Domain Services Virtualized Domain Controller feature. In Windows Server, AD DS provides greater support for virtualizing domain controllers by including safety features and supporting the rapid deployment of virtual domain controllers through cloning.
  • Lab 4: Virtualized Domain Controller in Windows Server
    • During this lab, you will deploy virtualized domain controller clones. You will also demonstrate virtualized safe restore capabilities. You will troubleshoot these technologies using the built-in instrumentation.

Module 5. Group Policy in Windows Server and Windows

  • This module explains the new group policy features in Windows Server and Windows. Significant changes for supportability and troubleshooting went into group policy. There were notable changes in the group policy client, such as reducing service utilization and future proofing for IE group policy preferences. You can now remotely refresh group policies. Finally, the overall health of group policy is much easier to ascertain, both on the domain controllers and on recipients.
  • Lab 5: Group Policy in Windows Server and Windows
    • During this lab, you will deploy new group policy management features, including GPMC infrastructure status, remote group policy refresh, and advanced RSoP.

Module 6. Group Managed Service Accounts in Windows Server

  • This module explains the new Windows Server group Managed Service Account (gMSA) at an advanced level. GMSA supersedes the previous standalone Managed Service Account (sMSA) functionality introduced in Windows Server. It adds support for multiple computers to share the same service account with the same password automatically generated by a domain controller. This makes server farms using MSAs possible for the first time.
  • Lab 6: Group Managed Service Accounts in Windows Server
    • During this lab, you will create group Managed Service Accounts, then deploy them to services and scheduled tasks. You will also evict a compromised computer from a gMSA

Module 7. Roaming Data and Account in Windows

  • This module details the significant changes in the Roaming User Profiles, Folder Redirection, and Offline Files features that target business users.
  • This module also provides an explanation of the new Connected Account Roaming feature in Windows and Windows Server. Even though this feature targets home users, the so-called "Consumerization of IT" means that enterprise and small-medium customers are more likely to use the new system, or at least require details on its inner workings and how to manage it.
  • Lab 7: Roaming Data and Account in Windows
    • During this lab, you will deploy folder redirection and roaming user profiles that use Primary Computer.

Module 8. DFSN and DFSR in Windows Server

  • This module explains the new Distributed File System Namespace and Replication features in Windows Server. DFSR and DFSN both received a number of supportability enhancements that make troubleshooting easier. They both also implement scalability and reliability improvements. Furthermore, DFSN now includes an entire Windows PowerShell based management system and support for Direct Access site awareness.
  • Lab 8: DFSN and DFSR in Windows Server
    • During this lab, you will deploy DFS Namespaces using Windows PowerShell.

Module 9. USMT 5.0 in Windows

  • This module explains the new features and capabilities of User State Migration Tool 5.0.
  • Lab 9: USMT 5.0 in Windows
    • During this lab, you will migrate data and settings from a computer running Windows XP to a computer running Windows. You will refresh an unbootable Windows computer with a hard-link migration. You will recover data from a corrupted intermediate migration store file. Finally, you will create a customized migapp.xml to migrate newer applications not supported by USMT 5.0.
